1.33 Booking with leasing
In the RentSyst system, you can choose booking by two models — Rental and Leasing. To get started, go to settings. You will immediately be taken to the first tab of System & Finance and see a list of available models. Select Leasing and click Next.
Leasing allows you to rent a car for a long time — for a period of several months to a couple of years. In this case, the amount of payment can be divided into installments. Money can be automatically withdrawn every day, after a certain period of days or once a month.
A prerequisite is the presence of an account in the Stripe payment system. Go to 10 Integrations settings and make sure you are connected to it.
Now you can create a new booking. Open the Reservations tab, which you will find in Rentals. Here you will see all current orders. Click Add leasing to create a new leasing model booking.
Select the fare, reservation dates and car, then proceed to the next step.
Further, the creation of a leasing reserve takes place in the same way as in the Rental model. The process is detailed in section 3.2 Creating a New Booking.
The main difference lies in the payment method. After filling in the client data, you can add a payment card immediately or send an email with a link to link the card. For example, for the client to add their card details on their own.
When adding a card, you will be taken to a window with your order number.
Then you will need to specify the card details, email and country.
It is important to note that invoices are generated manually for the first booking and automatically for subsequent payments. A separate invoice is generated for each debit.
After adding the card, click Save. You will be able to cancel the subscription later, but in this case the card will still remain linked. You can unlink it manually or subscribe to the selected car again.
To check the status of the order, go to the Reservations tab in Rentals. Green Recurring means that the subscription is active while yellow only indicates that the card is linked.
If you wish, you can still cancel the payment and the money will be returned to the card.
After you make payments, invoices appear. To expand the entire list, click View previous.
You can view payment details and company information by clicking the ↓ arrow.

If the payment fails, a notification will be sent to your email and appear in the RentSyst account settings. There will be 3 withdrawal attempts in total. In Stripe, you can adjust the frequency of these attempts.
In case of no payment, you will see the red Canceled status and receive a notification about a canceled subscription.
